We are proud to have received our Charitable Society status with the Federal government and fully certified under the Provincial Society Act. That incorporation was obtained on April 18, 2001.
The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame (BSHOF) is a Registered Charity Society in British Columbia.
On April 18, 2001, the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame obtained incorporation under the British Columbia Provincial Society Act. With the ongoing support of board & committee members, the staff of the City of Burnaby, Parks & Recreation and many volunteers, the society has dutifully adhered to all the strict guidelines established for a non-profit institution in British Columbia.
Status as a Registered Charity means that you can trust that your donations, contributions, and purchases are ethically distributed for the purpose of fulfilling the organization’s goals, mission and overall visions.
As a Registered Society with Provincial Charitable status, BSHOF’s primary sources for funds comes from our Annual Induction Banquet, contributions and donations from local businesses, marketing, community members, sports groups, fundraising and cause-related events like the annual auction at the awards banquet.
The BSHOF’s Board of Directors and all Committee Members are volunteer positions who are supported by the staff of the Burnaby Park’s & Recreation Departments.
Tax receipts are issued for contributions, donations, and purchases over $25.00.
The BCHOF maintains strict ethical accounting procedures with books and records in adherence to and in compliance with CRA established Society Protocols.
