The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

Wayne Elderton is recognized by Tennis Canada as creating the No. 1 tennis program in B. C.

He has developed 16 junior champions and five national titleholders and has also put together the top wheelchair tennis program in the Province, with his players winning 15 national titles and 2 international championships.

Known as a coach of coaches, Elderton has mentored over 1,000 coaches and is a pioneer of modern coaching methods in North America.

He has won 4 individual Tennis Canada coaching excellence awards and was a national development coach of the year runner-up in 1999 and 2000.
