Our appreciation and gratitude goes out to all our inductees, nominees and scholarship candidates. The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

The Simon Fraser University women’s basketball team fashioned a perfect 35-0 season in 2001-02 with its first Canadian Inter-university Sport national title, knocking off Laval 66-51 in the championship final.

Forward Jessica Kaczowka was named the CIS player of the year, while Teresa Kleindienst was chosen the nation’s top defensive player. Bruce Langford earned coach of the year honours. Lani Kramer was the team’s assistant coach. The Clan team, including Gaby Salazar, Jen Van De Walle, Kirsten Wood, Maren Corrigal, Jennifer McElgunn, Devon Campbell, Morgan McLaughlin and Dani Langford, averaged 77 points per game, while holding its combined opposition to just 49.3 points during that stretch.
