The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

Pier Morten is a two time B.C. Disabled Athlete of the Year (1988 and 2001). Is the unbeaten 15-time Canadian blind wrestling champion. In 1988 won the blind world wrestling championship, the first European Judo championship and the Canadian powerlifting championship.

He has won wrestling silver in three Paralympics and four bronze medals in judo at four other Paralympics. In 1992 became the world’s first totally blind and deaf athlete to obtain a black belt in judo.
