Our appreciation and gratitude goes out to all our inductees, nominees and scholarship candidates. The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

Heather Wilson-Banks was first capped for Canada’s national women’s rugby team against Wales at the 1994 World Cup.

Wilson-Banks, a back row forward, went on to represent her country 15 times, primarily at the No. 8 position.

The Burnaby firefighter played in two other World Cups for Canada, in 1998 and again in 2002. She captained the national team on two separate occasions.

Wilson-Banks played her club rugby for the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club for 12 seasons.
