Our appreciation and gratitude goes out to all our inductees, nominees and scholarship candidates. The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

Don Steen was an outstanding athlete graduate of Burnaby South Secondary; first track and field coach at Simon Fraser University; founding member and president of Canadian track and field Coaches Association; currently national athletics coach responsible for athlete development for Canada’s elite blind and visually impaired athletes; one of three athletic coaches Canadian team 1972 Olympics; Canadian athletics coach Canadian Paralympic teams on four occasions; has coached four national blind athletes to Canadian and international titles.
