Our appreciation and gratitude goes out to all our inductees, nominees and scholarship candidates. The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

Coached by Al Patterson, this Burnaby Midget “AAA” club accomplished in 1982 what no other B.C. team had done before or since, win the prestigious Air Canada Cup, emblematic of the Canadian Midget Hockey Championship. In that tournament the Burnaby Club recorded eight wins and no losses in round robin play and then defeated St. Foy, Quebec, 3-1 in the championship game. Earlier in year the team won the Cromie Memorial Trophy, emblematic of the B.C. Amateur Hockey Association championship. Their season record 79 wins, three losses, three ties.
