Ann Willcocks started up netball in B.C. right here in Burnaby. The Burnaby North High School principal has coached the provincial team from 1983 to the present and has taken Canada to international tournaments on eight separate occasions, including the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the ’93 World Games, where they finished a best-ever fifth.
Willcocks has also spearheaded a grassroots program, mentoring her players to introduce netball at both the elementary and secondary school levels.
