Alex Kemp is a life member of the provincial and B.C. youth soccer associations. A referee for 25 years, Kemp has been chair of the Vancouver and District junior and juvenile association, chair of the provincial body and as secretary of the BSCA, coordinated the Sun Tournament of Champions, serving on the committee since 1952 until 1986.
Kemp was also a successful coach with North Burnaby Legion youth, guiding the team to a Provincial Cup title. In 1998, Alex was the recipient of the A. C. Sanford soccer achievement award for longtime service to the game.
