Our appreciation and gratitude goes out to all our inductees, nominees and scholarship candidates. The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

This Under-16 female soccer team went undefeated in 1983 league play, winning 16 straight games. They then took that record to the then Provincial Sun Soccer Tournament of Champions, coming away with that title and the team’s Gail Joljart winning the Soccer Girl MVP title. They went on to win the Western Canada title in Saskatchewan and advanced to the national
championship in Niagara Falls where they beat the host team in penalty shots after the two clubs had tied 2-2 in regulation time on a very wet pitch.
