Our appreciation and gratitude goes out to all our inductees, nominees and scholarship candidates. The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

Burnaby Royals Soccer, 2005: They began their 2005 soccer season playing against older teams yet still managed to finish the season as league runners up. That put them in the Coastal Cup which they won. Then it was on to the Provincial Cup and they won that against a team that had players one year older than themselves. That earned them a spot in the National Championships and they made the year complete by defeating the two time National Champions from Ontario. When it was over, the organizing committee stated that the BC team was the best club team they had seen in the last thirty years.
