Our appreciation and gratitude goes out to all our inductees, nominees and scholarship candidates. The Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame is excited about the City of Burnaby providing a prominent place to inform Burnaby residents and visitors about the proud history and future of the city’s thriving sports community in its new Burnaby Lake Aquatics and Arena project.

The Burnaby Barons won it all in 2004, winning the 50-and-over division men’s provincial and national slo-pitch baseball championships in Newfoundland that year. The slo-pitch team won two provincial and national qualifying tournaments that year.

The Barons were also the Burnaby men’s open league A-division playoff champions, as well as winners at the Al Sorenson memorial 30-and-under tournament in Abbotsford and a 40-and-under invitational competition at South Memorial park in Vancouver. The Barons were the first team to be inducted into the Slo-Pitch National B.C. hall of honour in 2001.
